FC Barcelona continued their strong start to the league season with a convincing 97-58 win over Sevilla, helping to put the midweek Euroleague defeat against Karsiyaka behind them.

The Catalans burst out of the traps with intensity in a first quarter which again saw Ante Tomic provide inspiration for his side with ten points and four rebounds. The first period ended with a spectacular three-pointer from Arroyo with Barça opening up a healthy 29-17 lead.

Barça began to run away with the match in the second quarter largely thanks to Pau Ribas’ 18 points and four trebles. By the midway point, the visitors were 49-25 up as Sevilla managed just nine points in the second period.

Xavi Pascual’s side came out of the locker room with the same rigor as they had gone into it at the break. Trebles from Arroyo (3) and Abrines (4) saw the margin between the two sides extend to thirty points.

In the final quarter, Barça dropped the intensity but maintained their accuracy as they opened up the biggest margin of the match at 94-54. The game eventually ended 97-58 in a ruthless display from the away side.
