Pau Ribas played a huge role in Sunday's win / VICTOR SALGADO - FCB

FC Barcelona Lassa really had to sweat it out to get the better of MoraBanc Andorra on Sunday, with Pau Ribas and Stratos Perperoglou posting particularly fine performances.

The Andorrans started well, leading for the whole opening period, although never by much. Samuels and Doellman started clicking, and Barça had plenty of chances to finally get ahead, but two fine scores from Stojanovski and Shermadini meant that Andorra led by four when the first quarter ended.

In the second period, Barça started to get going, and some static attacks and great work from Markus Eriksson eventually edged them ahead at 31-29. But with Andorra running almost all of their play through the man with the best stats in the league, Shermadini, the battle stayed tense, and the teams were locked on 35 each when the half-time buzzer sounded.

Pau Ribas and Joan Carles Navarro were the main men after the restart, but the action progressed with neither side managing to establish any kind of meaningful lead. Andorra went back ahead at 52-53, and although Barça finally managed to get five-ahead, a buzzer-beating three from Schreiner left everything to play for in the final period (60-58).

The final period began with Barça building up the biggest lead of the game at 67-60 with five to go. But Andorra had not had their last say and Xavi Pascual opted to call a time-out with things close again at 82-79.

From then on, Barça managed to play down the clock to take a win that leaves them second in the league with just a fortnight to go before the Copa del Rey in Galicia.
