The FC Barcelona basketball team remain unbeaten in Europe following a thrilling victory over an Emporio Armani side in need of a result. The blaugranes were already in pole position in the group and they were behind for long periods of the game against the Italian side. Barça were able to call on their pride to take a win in which Alex Abrines was key for the home side.

Tomic key

Ante Tomic scored five of his first six shots to give the blaugranes an early lead and the home side grew in confidence as they dominated the early minutes. Nevertheless, the Italians scored fifteen unanswered points to take control with the visitors 28-16 up. Hezonja and Marcelinho led the fightback but Armani still held the lead going into half time 42-36 ahead.

Abrines leads comeback

After the break, Juan Carlos Navarro, a clever time out from coach Pascual and Satoransky combined to bring Barça into the lead at 57-56 at the end of the third quarter. However, the Milan side fought back and into the fourth quarter four three pointers brought them back in front to lead 70-67. It was going down to the wire and with the visitors 79-80 ahead in the final minutes, an Abrines inspired comeback saw Barça maintain their perfect record in Europe.
