Barça made a sluggish start and weren't able to catch up with the hosts who dreww level in the series Madrid led from the off and Barça only really got close in the third quarter The two meet again at the Palau on Tuesday evening

Poor start

Barça lacked the spark that had seen them take the first game and only Navarro’s trademark three pointers kept them in the game in the first quarter as Real Madrid cruised to a ten point lead, 21-14. In the second quarter Navarro, Abrines and Oleson cut the lead to 28-22 before Madrid recovered to go in 40-30 up at the break.

Plenty of character

Barça showed plenty of character as they fought back in the third quarter, getting to within five points 56-51, after Rudy had led Madrid to a 54-39 lead, but a number of personal fouls stemmed the flow and Madrid went into the final quarter 58-51 up. A three pointer from Oleson then took Barça to within four points, but again Madrid hit back and with the scores at 69-57, Pascual called a time out and the team responded by getting to 73-67 with five minutes to play.

Madrid make it 1-1

Madrid again turned up the heat and stretched the lead to 12 points and although Barça once more cut that lead down to 80-74, a three pointer from Dauden put the hosts out of reach and they closed the game out at 87-78.
