Ingles and Jawai

FC Barcelona’s 2013/14 roster is starting to take shape after Dorsey, Papanikolaou and Nachbar signed for the Blaugrana. These three new players will fill in for Joe Ingles and Nathan Jawai, both of whom will no longer play for the team.

Ingles, who’s played for Barça for the last three seasons, has signed with Maccabi Tel-Aviv. The 25-year-old announced today that he joined the Israeli team, which is managed by David Blatt. He is the first Australian to play for Tel-Aviv.

Ingles closes out his Barça career with five titles: 2 Ligas ACB (2011 and 2012), two Copas del Rey (2011 and 2013) and one ACB Super Cup (2012). He arrived to Barça in November of 2010, to fill in for the injured Gianluca Basile. His best mark in the ACB last season was 25 points, in the Euroleague it was 22 points.

Jawai signs for Galatasaray

This week also brought news of another Australian player on Barça’s roster, Nathan Jawai. The player signed a one-year contract with Galatasaray with the option of an additional year.

Jawai signed for Barça last season and he averaged 6.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game in the Liga Endesa, and 7.1 points and 4.7 rebounds in the Euroleague. A ligament injury forced Jawai to miss the final stretch of the season. During his time at Barça, he on the Copa del Rey (2013).
