Barça Regal are back in the hunt for silverware after it was defeated in the Endesa Super Cup final two days ago. At the Palau Olímpic in Badalona, Barça Regal will feature in the 33rd edition of Catalan League - a tournament the team has won 15 times, the last three consecutively. “We’re a young team. We need to grow, we have a long road ahead of us,” said Xavi Pascual this Sunday. The Catalan League is the next challenge for the rejuvenated Barça Regal side before the 2012/13 Liga Endesa tips off next Sunday at the Palau Blaugrana against Blancos de Rueda Valladolid.

Barça Regal faced off against the Sergià-based team in the last edition of the Catalan League. A year ago, Xavi Pascual’s men were made to work for their victory over the team that was managed by Ricard Casas, who finally succumbed to Azulgrana pressure in the last quarter of the match (81-64).

The rival

Força Lleida come into the match as champions of the LEB National Catalan League. The team beat Barça Regal B in the final played on the 16th of September at the Pabellón Barris Nord (72-65). The second semifinal of the Catalan League will be played this Tuesday. The match will pit FIATC Joventut against Assignia Manresa at 21.25. The winners of the two semi-finals will feature in the final, which is scheduled to start at 21.00 on Wednesday.
