Ante Tomic was named to the Liga Endesa All Star team just 48 hours before the quarter-final playoffs get underway. The Croatian player has averaged a total of 11.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per match in the regular season with Barça Regal. In addition, Tomic has also averaged 1.4 assists, 0.9 blocks and received 3 fouls per match in the 34 regular season matches he’s featured in this year.

“It’s a great award for me, it shows that I’ve had a good season with Barça Regal. I’m very pleased,” said Tomic. “I hope I’m able to help the team a bit more and that we can win the title we’ve all been wanting to win.”

The best stats of his career

Tomic’s fantastic debut year in the Balugrana strip has made him the eighth highest valued player of the league - with an average overall evaluation of 15.2 per match - and the second highest rebounder of the competition. The Croatian’s numbers this season show a marked improvement from when he first landed in the ACB, making him one of Xavi Pascual’s most important players.

His best match this season was against Manresa, where he managed to achieve an overall evaluation of 30 after scoring 24 points and securing 8 rebounds. At the Palau, his best match was against CAI Zaragoza - where he scored 19 points and got an overall evaluation of 28.

The all star team

Sergio Rodríguez, Rudy Fernández, Andrés Nocioni, Nikola Mirotic and Ante Tomic were all named to the all star team by members of the press, managers, players and fans. Tomic, who was also named to the 2010/11 all star team when he played for Real Madrid, was the center who garnered the most votes in the league. Tomic was also named to the the Euroleague’s all star team this year.
