Barça Regal trained this Monday morning for the last time before heading out to Russia. At the airport, before boarding the plane to Kazan, Xavi Pascual held a press conference. The Azulgranas, who have a 2-0 game lead over Unics Kazan, will play for a spot in the Final Four this Tuesday in Russia. “Despite having the advantage, we know the difficulty that we’ll have to overcome in this tie. Therefore, we did what was required of us: win both our home games,” said the Barça manager.

Kazan, a “very complicated” rival

Xavi Pascual also warned of the danger that the Tatar side brings to the court: “I’m sure that winning in Kazan will be very complicated. A tough game awaits us, and our rival has had time to recover. I’m convinced we’ll go up against an on-form team.” However, the Barça squad have three chances to clinch a Final Four berth. It’s a bit of added pressure for Barça Regal in what could be their final quarter-final match: “the next game is the most important game of them all: they have a lot of pressure on them but we must be the better side if we want to win.”

Domercant, “stand-out player” for Kazan

Pascual talked about the Kazan star, Henry Domercant: “he hasn’t had the chance to be comfortable on the court yet. Up until now we’ve dominated the game.” Despite the pressure the Barça team have put on the Kazan player, “when he gets his chance he’ll be hard to stop,” said the Barça manager.

Ndong and Mickeal, ready to play

On the two injured players, Pascual said that “we’re moderately optimistic.” Both the players were able to train this past Thursday for part of the session and, for this reason, the Barça manager believes that “they could play and help the team” in the match that could qualify Barça Regal for the Final Four in Istanbul.
