The Penya Barcelonista d’Arbúcies celebrated its 40th anniversary with a series of activities and institutional events at which FC Barcelona and the Agrupació Barça Jugadors (ABJ) were represented. The vice president of the Social Area, Jordi Cardoner, the director responsible for supporters clubs Pau Vilanova, and former player Pere Valentí Mora were there to partake in the celebrations in the Poliesportiu Can Delfí d’Arbúcies.

Some 200 people were in attendance for such events as a tribute to Josep Maria Iglesia, the founder of the PB d’Arbúcies, which is currently presided by Joaquim Vall·llosera. Local mayor Pere Garriga, councillor for sport Àngel Cabrera and president of the Empordà and Catalunya Nord region of FCB supporters clubs, Lluís Grau, were among the guests.

Statement by vice-president Jordi Cardoner:

“This morning’s tribute to Tito was very emotional, but the emotions were not limited to L’Escala. You have brought them here to Arbúcies, in memory of what my grandfather Nicolau Casaus achieved”.

“We need moments like these to remember how much we love the supporters clubs”.
