Lieke Martens and Toni Duggan have arrived. The Dutch and English internationals are two of the new arrivals this summer and they took part in their first training sessions with Barça Women on Tuesday afternoon following their post-European Championships holidays.

The other new arrivals are Patri Guijarro and Aitana Bonmatí. The two U19 European Championship winning midfielders also trained for the first time with the squad.

This means Fran Sánchez was able to count on his whole squad for the first time. Moreover, the second team player, Anna Torrodà, continues to train with the first team. Barça Women started preparing for the semi-finals of the Copa Catalunya against Europa in Gava next Friday.

Lieke Martens’ statements:

“It is fantastic to start the season here, it has been a spectacular summer for Holland and me. It is brilliant to be an important part of the team.”

Toni Duggan’s statements:

“My decision to come to Barcelona was a difficult one, it was an important step in my career. I got to know the team and the staff and I had a look around these fantastic facilities and realised this was the best option for me.”
