The Women’s first team this Saturday at 7PM local time will take on English side Bristol Academy in the first leg of the their last 16 Women’s UEFA Champions League tie.

Xavi Llorens’ team are playing in the competition for the third time and they come into the match in excellent form after eight games without defeat, six in the Spanish First Division and the two last 32 clashes with Slavia Prague. The women’s teams guaranteed their place in the last 16 with a 1-0 win in the Czech Republic and a comprehensive 3-0 victory in the Mini Stadium.

Bristol unstoppable in Europe

Barça’s rivals are coached by Dave Edmonson and in their last 32 tie they easily disposed of Irish side Raheny, winning 4-0 away and 2-1 at home in Bristol. They have amongst their ranks the Spanish striker Natalia Pablos who spent 13 seasons at Rayo Vallecano and scored the two goals that put Spain through the 2015 World Cup for the very first time in their history. Together with Hardin and Watts, she forms a strike force that has scored 5 goals in their 2 Champions’ League matches so far this season.

Free entry at the Mini Stadium

As well as being a mouth watering contest in the Champions’ League, it is an opportunity for the fans to see the game at the Mini Stadium free of charge. Xavi Llorens’ team need all the support they can muster.
