Leo Messi strolled out to the training pitch at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper on Tuesday morning. His gait was the same as always and his beard appeared unchanged.

What was different, however, was that Messi was not training with FC Barcelona, but rather with the Argentina National Team. Just as La Albiceleste did last week, the South American giants continued getting ready for this summer’s World Cup, to be held in Russia beginning on June 14.

Argentina’s last pre-World Cup friendly was on May 30 in Buenos Aires, against Haiti. Following the 4-0 win, which included a Messi hat trick, Argentina came to Barcelona to train on its way to Russia.

Argentina will continue use FC Barcelona’s facilities until this Friday’s friendly versus Israel in Tel Aviv. Argentina will then move on to Russia, where it opens play, in Moscow, on June 16 against Iceland.
