Luis Enrique in a game last season at Camp Nou / MIGUEL RUIZ - FCB

Luis Enrique was presented as Barça’s new coach on 21 May, 2014. The day of the game in the Sánchez Pizjuán, the Asturian completed 500 days as the blaugrana boss. Despite the defeat against Unai Emery’s side in Andalusia, the statistics since Luis Enrique has taken show it to be a highly successful partnership. The numbers speak for themselves and go part of the way to explaining why Barça were able to claim the league title, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League last season.

In 72 games as Barça boss, he has recorded 57 wins, 6 draws and 9 defeats, a winning percentage of almost 80%, an impressive figure for a side who have 196 goals in that time, conceding just 58.

Successful return

After a spell of three seasons in charge of the B team, Luis Enrique returned to FC Barcelona after a year at Celta Vigo. In his first campaign as Barça boss he completed an historic treble. In the league, Copa del Rey and Champions League the team featured in 60 official games and Luis Enrique as boss claimed 50 wins, 4 draws and 6 defeats, scoring almost three goals a game in the process (2.91% with 175 goals scored), conceding just one goal every two games (0.6%, 38 in total).

At the start of the new 2015/16 season and despite the adversity the side has had to face, the figures are still positive. Until now, Barça have played in 12 official matches, 7 in the league, 2 in the Champions League, 2 in the Spanish Super Cup and 1 in the European Super Cup. The record as it stands at the moment is one of 7 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats with one trophy, the European Super Cup, already in the bag.
