Messi's individual honours / FCB

Lionel Messi added yet another trophy to his massive collection on Thursday as he was voted UEFA’s Best Player in Europe for a second time in his career.

The Argentine had a sensational campaign last season, winning the treble with FC Barcelona and scoring 58 goals in 57 official matches. Those titles, along with the UEFA Super Cup win over Sevilla in August puts Messi on a par with Xavi Hernández and Andrés Iniesta for the most titles won at Barça. Each have won 25 trophies.

The recent honour in Monaco adds to Messi’s ever-growing personal collection. Barça’s no.10 has won four Ballon d’Or titles, three European Golden Shoes, three Pichichis and on five occasions finished Champions League top scorer, among many other awards.

On the international stage, Messi won the Under-20 World Cup in 2005, a gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics as well as being runner-up in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2015 Copa América.
