Luis Suárez has played again, this time for Uruguay in his first international outing since the World Cup in Brazil. The Barça striker, whose suspension ends on October 24, featured in tonight’s friendly against Saudi Arabia in Jiddah. And it was his shot onto the post that led to Fallatah putting the ball in his own net early in the second half.

Minutes later, Suárez had a couple of chances to extend the South American lead, and although he failed to convert either, he was lively and decisive for 70 minutes before being substituted by Abel Hernández. With Suarez off the pitch, the Saudis managed to grab a last minute equaliser through Harazi.

As he is only allowed to play in friendlies, Suárez’s only games since returning from Brazil have been in the Joan Gamper Trophy against Leon and in a game for Barça B against the Indonesia U19 team in which he scored two goals.
