Dani Alves was as straight-talking as ever on the ‘El Marcador’ show on Barça TV tonight. “We live for games like this” he said when asked about the forthcoming Clásico. “Who would we be without games like this? We’re always checking the fixture list to see when they are.”

Who would we be without games like this? We’re always checking the fixture list to see when they areSo what does think will happen on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabéu? “I wouldn’t say we’d win for sure, but neither would I say ‘crikey!’” he said in his typically jovial manner. “I’ll just say that we’ll rise to the occasion. You don’t need anything extra for these games. These games are the difference between someone who plays for Barça and someone who aspires to play for Barça. When I was playing in Bahía, I dreamt of playing in games like this. It’s an honour for me to be in a squad that gets to play games like these.”

He claims that there is no shortage of confident in the FC Barcelona squad right now. “We are assimilating the boss’ ideas very well” he said. “We have a very clear idea about what we want. And we seem to be getting better and better.”

I am very happy to be here. When I make life decisions I like to know I got them rightDani Alves also spoke about his decision in the summer not to leave Barça. “I am very happy to stay here” he explained. ”Because when I make life decisions I like to know I got them right. I am happy with my decision because we work here the way I like. It’s very intense and that’s what gives us the edge.”

As for his future, he said that “every now and again unfounded rumours come out of Brazil. There have been no conversations between my people and any team. If anything does happen, then I’ll be the first to say so.”
