Andrés Iniesta looking forward to Napoli test

The midfielder and team-mate Gerard Piqué are looking forward to a tough match against the Italians in Geneva

FC Barcelona’s third game of the preseason is against Italian outfit Napoli on Wednesday night in Geneva. The side that finished third in Serie A last season will play in the Champions League this season if they win their qualifying match, and at least on paper will provide the sternest test yet for Luis Enrique’s new-look squad. “We are now working very hard towards the new season and the match against Napoli in Geneva on August 6 is very important for us” said  Andrés Iniesta. “We look forward to playing in Geneva against this great team.”

Piqué’s Geneva debut

Gerard Piqué adds that “This is  an important match for us in Geneva. FC Napoli is a great team, and we respect them a lot. It's going to be a very tough, competitive match. I look forward to discovering the Stade de Genève and the Swiss fans. I hope that there'll be plenty of fans supporting Barça.”

Spain played a friendly against Chile in the Swiss stadium last September 10, but Piqué didn’t appear in the match. As he was suspended for the next World Cup qualifier, manager Vicente del Bosque decided that it didn’t make much sense including him in the team for the friendly either. But Barça’s Jordi Alba and Xavi Hernández did feature in the 2-2 draw against the side captained by another player who’ll be returning to the venue for the second time in less than a year, goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.
