After missing out on the team's last four matches due to injury, Andrés Iniesta returned to competitive play this Wednesday. “I felt good, my impression is that things are going well,” said the midfielder. The Spaniard explained that he only played 45 minutes because “we had already agreed to the substitution” before kickoff. “You always have to temper your return and that’s what we did. I feel just as I did before, it’s about adding to the team,” he said.

Iniesta noted that “the tie was heavily in our favour, but tonight’s match served to get ready for the game on Saturday” and that “there will be difficult moments” and that’s why “we have to take advantage of the fact that we’re playing well.” He added: “The hardest – and best – part of the season is yet to come.”

Grateful for the fans

The midfielder went on to thank the fans for coming out to the Camp Nou despite the inclement weather: “I want to thank the people that came today because the circumstances weren’t the best.”

Here are the statements made by Marc Bartra after the match:

“Perhaps the weather wasn’t the best for a football match, but I was just as excited as always.”

“We played a good game defensively and offensively.”

“Despite conceding the first goal, the team continued fighting.”

“We have to thank the people that came, there weren’t very many but they really cheered us on.”

“The most important thing is to try and improve on set pieces during our training sessions.”

“We’re going to have some very good games in the semi-finals. We hope to play well and reach the final.”
