Neymar Jr inspired Brazil to their 4-1 win over Cameroon on Monday evening and his two goals took him even closer to some of Brazil’s all-time greats.

  • Neymar has so far bagged four goals in the tournament, leading the goalscorers’ list ahead of Valencia (Ecuador), Benzema (France), Müller (Germany), Van Persie and Robben (Holland), who have all scored three.
  • Neymar’s braces against Croacia and Cameroon equal the record set by Ronaldo and Maradona in the 2002 and 1986 World Cups.
  • The Barça man has also equaled Ronaldo’s record set in 1998 of four goals in the group stage.
  • Neymar is only 22, but he has already scored 35 goals for Brazil – more than  Ronaldinho and Rivaldo and in sixth place in the all time list he is just four off fifth placed Bebeto.
  • Neymar is the youngest ever Brazilian to reach 35 goals with the national team.
  • Neymar was again voted Man of the Match after winning the same award against Croatia in the Tournament’s opening game
