Marc Bartra is feeling good about his role in the first team squad  and speaking at a press conference this lunchtime he explained: “I didn't get many minutes at the start of the season , but I've been getting more. I'm confident and I think the team is too"

Bartra admitted that like any player: "I am ambitious and want to play all the games I can  - not just a few minutes here and there", whilst insisting : “I've never considered leaving - I've been 12 years here and Barça has given me everything. I hope to be a Barça defender for many more years".

Bartra's future at the Club is of course dependent on his contract renewal and he revealed: "I'm relaxed about it  - it's going fine. I'm certain that everything will work out okay. It's something between the Club and my agent and I just have to focus on my job. I feel I have an important role in the team and I'm trying to give the boss something to think about when he has to choose the team".

Playing alongside Puyol, Piqué and Mascherano is also helping Bartra progress: "Puyol, for example has helped me a lot - he's always keeping me on my toes, he's confident in my abilities and he gives me plenty of advice", but he was also clear that any new signings at the back is a matter solely for the Club to decide on.
We are all keen to go into these last four game because we want to finish the year on a high
Finally, Bartra sent a confident message to the fans as 2013 comes to an end: “we are all keen to go into these last four game because we want to finish the year on a high. We ourselves have set the bar high and so we have to accept that if we don't reach the heights we've set, we might get some criticism"

With Gerard Deulofeu and Oriol Rosell enjoying success away from the Camp Nou, Bartra advised Sergi Roberto: ·be patient - with th qualities he has, I am sure he will go far".
