Spain manager Vicente del Bosque announced his squad today for the forthcoming friendly international in Puerto Rico on August 15 (22.30). There are some changes with respect to the team that won the European Championships this summer, for neither Xavi Hernández nor Jordi Alba have been included. But there are still six Barça representatives in Victor Valdés, Gerard Piqué, Sergio Busquets, Andrés Iniesta, Pedro Rodríguez and Cesc Fàbregas.

Other call-ups

The six players in the Spain squad are not the only members of Tito Vilanova’s first team that will be away that week. Argentina will be requiring the services of both Messi and Mascherano, Dani Alves will be playing for Brazil, and so will Alexis for Chile. Also, Dutch manager Louis van Gaal has named Ibrahim Afellay in his team for a friendly against neighbours Belgium.
