This Wednesday, Barça B will be representing the Club in the semi-finals of the Copa Catalunya, which is being played in the Nou Estadi in Tarragona (kick-off 9.30 pm, Esport3) against Nàstic. Eusebio Sacristán’s team is excited about taking on the current title-holders and having the opportunity of adding to their footballing education.

The reserves go into the match in good form after breaking a four-match run without a win against Numancia last Saturday (0-1).  The two teams met last season in the Second Division, with Barça B winning in the Mini (1-0) and forcing a 1-1 draw in the Nou Estadi.

20-man squad

The team will leave Barcelona at 7 pm for the short trip down the coast to Tarragona.  Eusebio has named twenty players for the match, as allowed for by the competition rules, as it is possible to make up to six substitutions during the match.   Sergi Roberto, who has a hamstring niggle, has been rested as a precaution.  Deulofeu will also miss the game as he is away with the Spain under-20 squad.  Meanwhile, Agostinho Cá, Lobato, Juste and Grimaldo are all out with injuries while the coaches have decided not to call on Masip, Balliu and Planas.

Nàstic current champions

Nàstic will be hoping to put up a good defence of the title they won last season.  However, they will also have an eye on this Sunday’s league match against Constancia, which be key to keeping open their chances of making the promotion playoffs.  Nàstic are currently sixth in their group in Second Division B, five points off the play-off zone but with a game in hand on fourth-placed Alcoya.
