Barça 3-2 Lleida: Narrow victory

Barça 3-2 Lleida: Narrow victory

The last game of 2023 at the Palau is a toughie, but it all comes good in the end with goals from Joao, Bargalló and Alabart

It’s taken just eleven games for the roller hockey team to rack up their tenth win in the OK Liga. But it wasn’t an easy one today against Finques Prats Lleida, eventually won by the odd goal in five. Joao Rodrigues, Pau Bargalló and Ignacio Alabart (the latter bagging the winner) eventually overcame a tough opponent in the last game of the year at the Palau Blaugrana.

The last two games of the year are both on the road, this Saturday at Girona in the domestic championship, and then a trip to Italy to play Porsche Firenze Versilia on December 14.

In today’s game, Barça started incredibly well, leading 2-0 after just three minutes. But those had expected an easy ride were in for a shock. There was no further score in the first half, and when the teams came back out, we once again saw a team score two quick goals, but this time that team was Lleida.

Nico Ojeda and Moncusí’s goals levelled things up at 2-2, and the fact is that Lleida played some very, very good hockey.

But Barça managed to salvage the win five minutes from time, all thanks to an Alabart goal that means the leaders’ unbeaten record remains intact.
