Sporting CP 1–4 Barça: Winning start to Golden Cup

Barça have got off to the perfect start in the first ever edition of the Golden Cup. They have beaten Sporting Lisbon 4-1 to fly to the top of Group B with the goasls coming courtesy of Bargalló (2), Sergi Llorca and Helder Nunes. 

Two goals in the space of a minute meant the blaugrana led at the break, and they had made it three before Ferran Font finally got the Portuguese side off the mark.

Barça then missed a penalty before promptly scoring anyway to secure the game that, curiously, was followed by a penalty shootout, which will be used as a tie-breaker should the group end in a tie. Sporting won that one.

Barça get straight back into action on Tuesday against Saint-Omer at 9.00pm CEST.
