U.B. Conquense v FC Barcelona B: Hat-trick from Rafa Mujica secures second league win (0-3)

Barça B are adapting to the league with each game and they secured their second win of the season with a 3-0 victory over U.B. Conquense. The blaugranes dominated throughout despite not being able to score in the opening half. Mujica changed that in the second half with a 25-minute hat-trick.

Garcia Pimienta’s side dominated from the fifth minute on as they started to control possession. In the 10th minute, Ballou had a free header but Sergi Puig, Barça goalkeeper on loan at Conquense, stopped his parent club taking the lead. Ten minutes on, Ballou saw another good chance slip away. Barça B looked dangerous on the attack but had still not found a way through by the break (0-0).

Mujica hat-trick in 25 minutes

Pimi’s team talk at the break had the desired effect as his side took the lead within three minutes they had taken the lead. Cuenca looked up and produced a long pass into space for Mujica to finish. Barça B didn’t slow down as the striker went on to double the lead following a great move from Kike Saverio (2-0). Barça B didn’t lose control of the game even when Conquense went on the attack. They weren’t able to do so and they were punished for it as Mujica completed his three-goal haul. 

Barça B hadn’t been able to win a game comfortably this season but with 20 minutes to go they were coasting towards a second league victory of the season and their good form continues as they now have seven from the last nine available points. In the final few minutes, Oriol Busquets returned to action for the first time since his injury. The next game is a Catalan derby at the Miniestadi against Olot on Saturday 29 September.
