The USA guard for Barça Lassa says “we have to be ready for the play-offs to be able to win the league"
Barça Lassa ended their 2016/17 campaign away at Fenerbahçe with a 68-65 defeat in which Juan Carlos Navarro recorded his 4,000th point in the competition’s history, a figure which will be difficult to match in the future. For Bartzokas’ team now, the only remaining objective lies in the Endesa League and Sunday’s home game against Tecnyconta Zaragoza.
“In the game against Fenerbahça we did some things well and others not so…but that has to help us move forward. We have to prepared for the final part of the season and focused to be able to win the Endesa League,” said guard Tyrese Rice after the game in Istanbul.
Rice has been Barça Lassa’s top points scorer in the Euroleague this season with an average of 13 points a game, the American’s best since in the tournament, beating the figures he recorded for Maccabi Tel Aviv and Khimki in previous seasons. Second top scorer was Finn Koponen with an average of 10.1 points per game, his best effort in the Euroleague.
