Presentation Title:

Smart Stadium, a vision of Smart City concept

Presentation Synopsis:

Stadiums work like cities. On a match day, stadiums deal with the mobility and accessibility of a huge number of fans who gather together to enjoy the game. The stadium works as a platform where issues like consume, mobile connectivity, transport, or waste management happen and need to be successfully addressed. In order to deliver a better fan experience, stadiums need to be managed in a sustainable and smart way.

A stadium is an important piece of the city infrastructure working as the backbone of modern urban networks. That is why the approach and experience of Smart Cities can be applied to Smart Stadiums adapting the citizen centric model to a fan centric one. Sustainable infrastructure, smart mobility access and fan experience are key to develop a Smart Stadium vision encompassed throughout the fan experience: before, during and after the game.

The Smart Stadium strategy is an opportunity to improve the fan engagement, the business and the sustainability of the new sports arenas.
