Remember these goals against Mexican teams?
Just before Christmas, on December 21, Barça will be facing Club América in Dallas, just the latest in a long series of encounters between the Catalans and clubs from Mexico.
Many were friendlies, but there have also been games at the Club World Cup, and some great players have scored great goals in them, including such unforgettable names as Messi, Deco, Pedro, Xavi, Rafa Márquez, Ronaldinho, Gudjohnsen, Bojan, Villa and Busquets, and you can enjoy all those in the following video.
It was in the 2006/07 and 2009/10 seasons that Barça played Mexican teams in the semi-finals of the world championship. Club Amèrica were soundly beaten 4-0 at the International Stadium, Yokohama (0-4) with Gudjohnsen, Márquez, Ronaldinho and Deco getting the goals. Three years later, Atlante were seen off 3-1 in Abu Dhabi, with Busquets, Pedro and Messi on target.
There are some fine moments from friendlies too. Watch current coach Xavi Hernández spanking home a wonderful free kick in 2008 against Guadalajara. Or David Villa opening the scoring against the same team in the 2011 preseason, although that time, 'Chivas' went on to win the match.
