Lenovo Tenerife 80-69 Barça: The Palau will decide

Game 2 in the semi-final series is very different to the first and with things tied at 1-1, a place in the final all comes down to the third and final game

Barça have lost the second game of their semi-final series with Lenovo Tenerife (80-68) and will now have to win games three at the Palau to make the Liga Endesa final.

Former Barça man Marcelinho Huertas was on fire early on as the home side looked a lot more comfortable than they did in games one, but fine shows from Gasol and Hanga kept Barça ahead for most of the half but the Canary islanders had it by ten at the break  (38-35).

A +12 from the home side then had Barça in big trouble. Pau Gasol with nine points in the third period, played a huge role in the blaugrana reaction, and there were still three points in it going into the final ten (58-55).

But an extraordinary 11-0 from Tenerife to open the closing period as good as killed the game. Barça took five minutes to even score, and that was never going to be the way to win the game. There was a reaction in the end, but it came too late and they ended up losing by 12 points.

It’s all to be decided in game three.
