The demand for postal voting exceeds 15,000 applications after one week

Members can request this voting method until Tuesday, February 9 at 7.00pm CET, from the club’s website

The members of FC Barcelona are responding very positively to the possibility of being able to exercise their vote by mail in the next elections for the Presidency and Board of Directors on March 7. By Thursday evening at 6.00pm CET, there were already 15,051 members who had asked to vote for any of the options offered by postal voting, whether general or home voting for those over 65 who have a mobility problem or are unable to travel for health reasons.

This Thursday has seen the end of the first week of the postal voting application period, which opened last Friday, January 29, and will close next Tuesday, February 9 at 7.00pm CET. Throughout this time, the applications that the club has received are showing that this is an option that facilitates the participation of members, especially for those who have difficulty being able to travel. In addition, during a pandemic, the model of postal voting helps to further ensure the health and protection of these elections.

It should be remembered that requesting the vote by mail makes it impossible for the member to be able to vote in person on March 7, whether he has cast that vote by mail or has not been able to do so for any reason.

Members who wish to can apply online at the club website for voting by mail, using their membership details.

Despite the high number of requests being received, the platform created by the club to handle the receipt of such requests is running smoothly. On Tuesday, February 9 at 7.00pm CET, access to this form will be closed and the organisation of sending the necessary documentation will begin, so that members who have opted for the vote by mail can issue it between February 15 and 26.

Options on offer

Voting by post offers two options to Barça members: general and domicile.

The general voting option allows the member to receive the information at home and go to the polls between February 15 and 26 at a post office.

In the home voting option, aimed at people over 65 and partners with reduced mobility, functional diversity or illness, the member, once their identity is proven, will receive the documentation at home from a postal employee and at that time he shall deliver his vote to the same official.
