Griezmann helps France top group
A 2-0 victory for France away in Albania secured first place in their qualifying group for Euro 2020. Clément Lenglet and Antoine Griezmann both played all 90 minutes with the latter shining by providing an assist for the first goal scored by Tolisso and by grabbing the second himself to round off the win for the current World Cup holders.

Three Barça players qualify for Euro 2020
Frenkie de Jong played all 90 minutes of Holland’s 0-0 draw in Northern Ireland, and the result is enough to ensure the Dutch will be appearing at Euro 2020. Germany, with Ter Stegen on the bench, also secured passage with a 4-0 defeat of Belarus.
Although he wasn’t playing due to injury, it was also a happy day for Ivan Rakitic because Croatia beat Slovakia 3-1 and are also going to the finals.

All eyes on Group E
The Barça interest today is in the group involving Holland and Germany. Neither side has qualified for Euro 2020 yet, because Northern Ireland are still lurking with an outside chance of edging one of the big two out.
Frenkie de Jong and the Dutch are in Belfast today (8.45pm CET), where a win would see them safely through. But Norn Iron are not to be taken lightly – they very nearly won the away fixture in Holland remember.
Meanwhile Marc Andre ter Stegen and Germany are at home to Belarus at the same time. A win, or even a draw, might be enough to ensure qualification, depending in what happens in the other game.
Croatia can settle things tonight as well as they host Slovakia, although Ivan Rakitic won’t be involved after reporting back to Barcelona with an injury.

Messi goal defeats Brazil
Leo Messi scores the only goal of the game in the first half as Argentina beat old foes Brazil, featuring Arthur Melo for 55 minutes, in a friendly in Saudi Arabia. The Barça striker had already missed a penalty before pouncing on a rebound off Liverpool keeper Alisson to net the winner.
Speaking after the game, the Barça captain said “we tried to attack early but we lacked accuracy and they were generating counter attacks. We were much better in the second half.”
“I think this way of defending works well for us. The win takes away some tension. It’s good for the games to come. I felt good at the end. We all ran a lot. That’s what we should do.”
As for Monday’s game with Uruguay in Israel, he added: “If the manger wants me too, then I’ll play.”

Antoine Griezmann and Clément Lenglet are in contention to feature for France on Thursday night (8:45pm) against Moldova, with qualification for Euro 2020 at stake. Should they win at the Stade De France, they would mathematically enter next summer's tourament -something that will also occur should Iceland not be able to beat Turkey.
