Victory, and not an easy one, to end a demanding week. Barça beat Montakit Fuenlabrada 87-74 in the third game in five days to remain top of the Liga Endesa.
With former Barça man Marc García in fine form for the visitors, and Mirotic as ever excelling in blaugrana, the first quarter ended almost square at 23-24. The second period was just as tight. Neither side managed to establish any kind of meaningful lead and the sides went in for the break at 41-42.
A Delaney led Barça started to find their shooting in the third, and at last there was some kind of difference. The period ended 25-18, putting Barça +6 and at last starting to show some dominance.
The key now was to prevent a Fuenlabrada reaction, and a Gillet three looked to have produced just that… However quick scores from Higgins and Mirotic put paid to that and from then on the Catalans managed to control the minutes to ensure they came out 87-74 winners.
