Martín Montoya, Gerard Piqué, Jordi Alba, Marc Bartra, Sergio Busquets, Cesc Fàbregas, Sergi Roberto and Cristian Tello have all been named by Catalonia manager Gerard López for the game on Monday December 30 against Cape Verde (19.00).
That makes FC Barcelona, with eight players, the most represented club in Gerard López’s first ever team selection. His side also includes other players with an FCB past, namely Marc Valiente (Valladolid), Oriol Rosell (Kansas City), Víctor Sánchez and Sergio Garcia (Espanyol), Bojan Krkic (Ajax) and Oriol Riera (Osasuna).
The squad for the game in the Olympic Stadium is completed by Kiko Casilla (Espanyol), Jordi Codina (Getafe), Joan Capdevila (Espanyol), Víctor Álvarez (Espanyol), David López (Espanyol), Piti (Granada), Javi Márquez (Elche) and Aleix Vidal (Almeria). The game is being held on the first day back to work for the FC Barcelona first team after the Christmas break, but obviously the players that are appearing in this match will not be expected to report back until the day after.
