At ten in the morning, the Congress will begin its deliberations with Club Vice-President l Sr. Jordi Cardoner i Casaus opening proceedings which will continue with debates in the various working groups as part of the Keynote Address 2014. The debates will be split into two spaces, the first discussing Territorial Organisation, Penyes Regulations, Celebrations and Protocol, with the Consell de Solidaritat i Activitats, Camp Nou, Tickets and Travel, Marketing and Communication.
After having spent the morning discussing the issues which have been debated throughout the year, there will be a lunch break and then the Congress will ions from the floor and a specific session in which the international penyes will discuss their future organisation will then be held.
A cards tournament (III Torneig de Cartes de Penyes) will kick off the evening social events – members can register for €10 on the Club website until August 13, which includes supper – that also includes the final stages of the Torneig de Futbol 7 on the pitches at the Ministadi from 18.00
Première of the film, “Messi”
The representatives at the Congress and Meeting will also have the first chance to see the film “Messi” as part of the homage to the many players who have come through La Masia, which is a theme of the two events. The film will be shown at 17.30 at the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya for all the members attending the Congres.
Directed by Álex de la Iglesia with a script by Jorge Valdano and produced by Mediapro, the film was shot in Rosario, Buenos Aires and Barcelona and takes a look at Messi’s life, with contributions from famous football figures such as Menotti, Maradona, Valdano and Cruyff, archive images, exclusive family photos and the dramatic recreation of the most important moments in his life.
Open air barbecue with a Mediterranean flavour
Sunday’s activities close with an open air barbecue open to all at the Trobada Mundial, with a monologue from a favourite of the penyes, Pep Plaza and a concert of Havaneres accompanied by the traditional rum “cremat”.
