FC Barcelona bounced back following their first defeat of the season against Orlen Wisla Plock to dispatch Fraikin BM Granollers at home in the Palau Blaugrana. Barça were in control right from the start and an excellent performance from former Granollers keeper Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas in goal kept the blaugranes defence extremely tight. The shot stopped made an impressive 14 saves in the first half with Xavi Pascual's team going in 23-10 up at half time.
In the second half the visitors came into the game and at various moments Barça's lead was cut to 10 goals. However, Ariño and Rutenka took control of the match in attack in the closing minutes as the blaugranes once again surpassed the 40 goal mark in a single encounter come the end of the game.
