Barca's next opponent in the Spanish Cup will be Elche, who advanced to the last 16 on Thursday with a 1-0 victory over Valladolid. The two teams have already met in the league this season, when Barca won 3-0 at Camp Nou.
Elche and Valladolid had played to a 0-0 draw in the first leg, but a lone goal from Adrian González in minute 6 of the return leg was enough to send Elche into the next round. The last time Elche reached this stage of the competition was ten years ago.
Last 16 Madrid derby
The first leg will be played at Camp Nou after the holiday hiatus on January 8th at 10.00 PM CET, the same hour of Barça's 8-1 victory over Huesca last Tuesday. If Barça eliminate Elche to make the quarter-finals they'll face either Atlético Madrid or Real Madrid, who collided in the Spanish Cup last season as well.
