FC Barcelona – Morabanc Andorra: ready for the play-offs (84-74)

Barça made it six wins on the trot with the win against Andorra in the last game of the regular season Victor Sada received a warm welcome on his return to the Palau, as did Jordi Trias and Nathan Jawai

The regular season came to a finish at the Palau on Sunday night when Barça ensured second spot with an 84-74 win over Andorra. It was an emotional night, as ex-Barça hero Victor Sada received a warm welcome from the Palau crowd on his return to the Club alongside ex-Barça players Jordi Trias and Nathan Jawai.

Barça led from the off and were 20-16 up by the end of the first quarter – a lead they had doubled at the break with key triple from Oleson and a spectacular score from Satoransky. Nathan Jawai proved to be the biggest threat to Barça in the third quarter as he used his strength to lead a mini-revival from the visitors before Doellman made his influence felt and Barça eased into a 61-46 lead, which they stretched to 68-57 going into the final 10 minutes.

Strength in depth

With Lampe coming to the fore, Barça led 78-60 in the final quarter despite leaving Doellman, Tomic and Thomas on the bench and Marcelinho, Lampe, Oleson and Abrinesall clocked up the points to put the game out of Andorra’s reach – though there was still time for a spectacular play between  Trias and Sada, before the hooter went to mark Barça’s sixth win on the run with the 84-74 win a perfect send-off ahead of the play-offs.
