Manchester United beat América in International Champions Cup (0-1)
A Schneiderlin goal is enough for the Red Devils to win the first game of the preseason
Manchester United, Barça’s second opponent of the preseason on July 25, have beaten Club América of Mexico 1-0 in their first game in the International Champions Cup, which will also feature FC Barcelona.
Louis Van Gaal started his first game of the preseason with an eleven of Johnstone, Jones, Blind, Shaw, Carrick, Mata, Young and Rooney, as well as debutants Darmian, Depay and Schneiderlin. The latter scored the first and only goal of the game after five minutes. Latching onto a cross from Mata that América keeper González had no chance of saving.
The Dutch coach made eleven changes at half-time, bringing on star signing Bastian Schweinsteiger for his first game in a United shirt.
