Four years after winning the Club World Cup, the Barça players return to the International Yokohama Stadium. Andrés Iniesta, Leo Messi, Dani Alves, Javier Mascherano, Gerard Piqué, Sergio Busquets and Adriano were all part of the victorious 2011 squad and they were all present again in the training session ahead of Thursday’s semi-final against Guangzhou Evergrande. That game, coach Luis Enrique warned in a press conference, will be far from easy.
During their first few days of their stay in Japan, the Barça squad trained at the Mitsuzawa Stadium, also in Yokohama.
Neymar trains alone
Another who stepped out onto the field was Neymar, who up to now had only taken part in recovery work in the hotel in Japan. The Brazilian was accompanied at all time by a member of the coaching and fitness staff. The striker picked up a groin injury in training the day before the game against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League some eight days ago.
