Barça 38-31 Oporto: Big Champions League win

12 goals from Aleix Gomez help to end a two-game losing streak in Europe

Barça have beaten Oporto by seven goals in Wednesday’s Champions League encounter. A strong first half performance set up what proved to be a definitive lead that was increased after the interval with no drop in intensity. Aleix Gomez led the way with a spectacular 12 goals.

After going 3-0 up from the off, there was no looking back as the Catalans led 12-6 on the quarter hour of a game that already looked to only have one winner, and that was even despite Pérez de Vargas getting red carded.

Oporto kept battling hard, never giving up on the cause, but Barça were good value for a result that has put an end to a two-game losing streak in Europe.
