Barça 36-32 Zamalek: Into the semi finals thanks to a comeback

Carlos Ortega's team turn the game around in a tough contest against the Egyptians

Barça have made it to the semi finals of the Super Globe tournament with Carlos Ortega's team overcoming Zamalek in their quarter final by 36-32.

Barça had to watch Zamalek take control in the early minutes as the Egyptian team stormed into a 5-0 lead. Blaugrana Dika Mem led the revival and by minute 13 the blaugranes trailed just 11-6. Pérez de Vargas in goal was in top form and Maluc and Frade led the comeback with Barça levelling things up at 14-14. 

Ruthless Barça 

The Barça improvement continued and Ángel Fernández's goal placed them ahead for the first time in the game at 15-14 which became a 18-17 advantage at half time. 

In the second half Barça maintained their advantage and a period of five unanswered goals saw the blaugranes ahead at 26-20. Zamalek rallied but two goals from Ali Zein and Dika Mem leading the side closed out a 36-32 win. The reward is a semi final against Brazilian side Pinheiros on Thursday with a place in Saturday's final up for grabs.
