Barça 36-26 Fraikin Granollers: 21st Catalan Super Cup!

Carlos Ortega's team put in an excellent first half to claim a second trophy in 72 hours

Two trophies in 72 hours. Barça overcame Fraikin Granollers 36-26 in the final of the Catalan Super Cup in a game that they dominated from start to finish. Carlos Ortega's team were always in control but their opponents never threw in the towel and keeper Maciel had to be at his best to prevent Granollers from threatening Barça lead.

Barça sprinted to an early lead in the game but a comeback from their opponents saw the score close to 9-8 before the blaugranes suffered two expulsions. Nevertheless, Maciel's saves and a spell of five unanswered goals saw them take a 15-11 lead into half time.

In the second half Richardson and Cindric led the attack as Granollers' defences crumbled. Barça were 29-18 up and then 35-23 ahead before closing out the win to claim a second Super Cup after their win at the weekend in the Spanish version of the competition.
