The Asobal league is back and Barça are back with a commanding 31-18 win over Helvetia Anaitasuna, a game that Xavi Pascual's team dominated from start to finish. Aleix Gómez top scored with seven goals as the blaugranes started the defence on their league title in style following the victories in the Spanish and Catalan Super Cups in August.
Helvetia scored the opening goal of the game but the visitors soon took control as Langaro and Entrerríos gave them a lead they would not relinquish for the rest of the encounter. With Aleix Gómez in great form, Barça stormed into a 13-6 lead that became 17-8 by the time the teams reached half time.
In the second half the blaugranes were soon 24-12 up despite the best effort of Helvetis keeper Bols who made several excellent saves. Youngster Diocou impressed with five goals and Cindric added the final strike in the comprehensive 31-18 win.
Barça remain in Pamplona until Friday when they will move on Logroño for their next fixture in the Asobal league.
