FC Barcelona 0-3 Fútbol Emotion Zaragoza: Shock home defeat

One of those days when the ball just didn't want to go in and the opposition took their chances when they came

Not a great day at the Palau Blaugrana with a heavy home defeat for the futsal team against Fútbol Emotion Zaragoza, and putting a real dampener on the Sant Jordi celebrations. The visitors were very well organised in defence and effective up front, with Barça coming up time and time against a brick wall and failing to score in a home fixture for the first time in many years.

Jesús Velasco
, having just renewed until 2024, had warned that this was a potential banana skin of a game, especially with Pito, Ferrao, Esquerdinha and Matheus out through injury and minds set on the Final Four in Riga next week, while Zaragoza are doing everything they can to retain their place in the top flight.

Adri Ortego put the Aragonese side ahead in the first half, and when Claudino made it 2-0 it became apparent that we could be in for a shock result. Barça pushed desperately back, but didn’t seem to have the right ideas this evening, and ended up conceding yet another goal six seconds from the end.
