FC Barcelona and Heura Foods come together to promote women's sports and develop a more sustainable food system

The plant-based food company founded in Barcelona will be the new partner of the first Barça women's team for the next three seasons; until the 30th of June 2025

FC Barcelona and Heura Foods have signed a new sponsorship agreement whereby the food brand will become the new partner of the Barça Women's team for the next three seasons, until the 30th of June 2025. As part of this partnership, which is based on the shared desire to have a positive impact on society, both brands will work on different initiatives to promote a more sustainable food system globally, while collaborating to give a new impetus to women's football.

The agreement between FC Barcelona and Heura Foods has been made possible thanks to a series of common values, such as a commitment to innovation, effort and teamwork. Values that the Barça women's team perfectly embodies and that have made it a benchmark both on and off the pitch: on the pitch, thanks to the wins and titles the team has achieved, and off it, thanks to the goals that go beyond sport and that have contributed to the advancement and consolidation of women's football. Likewise, one of the main objectives of Heura Foods –Europe's fastest growing plant-based meat company founded by activists Marc Coloma and Bernat Añaños in 2017 – is to create solutions that enable a food system in which animals are out of the protein production equation and promote more sustainable, nutritious and healthier initiatives.

The partnership also represents a new step forward for women's football, which adds the support of the leading and dynamic Heura Foods brand - present in more than 18,000 points of sale in more than 20 countries around the world- and consolidates as a brand that partners trust to contribute to their recognition thanks to its local and international reach.

As part of this partnership, FC Barcelona and Heura Foods will collaborate on different visibility initiatives with Jonatan Giráldez's players and will create content that will be distributed through the Club's digital channels with the purpose of allowing the public to discover and better understand the options offered by plant-based food in the daily diet. For this purpose, starting at the Joan Gamper Cup that kicks off on the 23rd of August, where the Barça Women's team will play against Montpellier, it will also be possible to find plant-based restaurant options at the Johan Cruyff Stadium, such as: Menu Heura chicken sandwich and menu Heura sausage. Also, Heura Foods will have a presence on the Stadium's LED displays during the matches, along with hospitality and association rights with the women's team.

Statements by Juli Guiu, Vice president Marketing Area, FC Barcelona

“We are extremely proud to be able to start this shared project with Heura Foods, a brand that has demonstrated its innovative spirit and its desire to have a positive impact on its environment. And we at FC Barcelona are convinced of the power of sport when it comes to contribute to the creation of a better world, so, for this reason, we believe that, with this collaboration, we can implement activities that will help us move towards a more sustainable future. We would also like to thank Heura Foods for their trust and support in continuing to develop and consolidate women's football, in what represents a new step towards equality in all areas of society”.

Statements of Marc Coloma, CEO and co-founder of Heura Foods

“Innovation, determination, and non-conformism are just some of the traits we admire about the FC Barcelona Women’s team, and why we wanted to partner with such an aspirational team of elite athletes, nutritionists and trainers. It will allow us to scale up our reach to inform and empower people around the world on the benefits that a plant-based diet can have on one’s health and the sustainability of our planet.”
