All to play for at Euro 2022

All 13 FC Barcelona players have a chance of progressing to the quarter finals, but some teams are better poised than others

Everything is to play for at Euro 2022 for the five teams represented by the 13 different Barça players competing at the tournament in England. The host nation are already through, while for the other four, it all comes down to what happens in the final round of group stage fixtures (all times CEST).

Group A

Northern Ireland v England (15/07; 9:00pm)
Austria v Norway (15/07; 9:00pm)

Lucy Bronze is already assured of a place in the quarter finals after England followed their opening day win against Austria with an 8-0 rout of Norway, the biggest win in tournament history.

That wasn’t good news for Engen and Graham Hansen, however, who will now have to beat Austria if they are to join the English in the next round.

Group B

Denmark v Spain (16/07; 9:00pm)

After losing 2-0 to Germany, the Spanish side featuring eight different Barça players can no longer top their group, but a draw with Denmark would still be enough to ensure they progress to the knockout stage.

Group C

Switzerland v Netherlands (17/07; 6:00pm)
Sweden v Portugal (17/07; 6:00pm)

Fridolina Rolfo and Sweden only need to draw with Portugal in their final game after beating Switzerland 2-1 to move up to four points.

But that defeat has seriously complicated matters for the Swiss. Crnogorcevic’s side now needs to beat the defending champions from Holland and even then nothing is guaranteed. They would also need Portugal to beat Sweden, which would give them a chance to qualify on goal difference.
