Maria Arnal to sing acapella Barça anthem before Real Madrid game at the Estadi Johan Cruyff

The Club organises different events as part of International Women's Day with the players wearing a jersey with the female symbol

The Clásico against Real Madrid coincides with the week in which International Women's Day has been celebrated and for that reason the Club wishes to involve the women's team and the fans who will fill the Estadi Johan Cruyff on Sunday by organising events to commemorate the occasion.

The Catalan singer Maria Arnal will sing a specially adapted female version of the Barça anthem acapella before the game. Furthermore, the players will wear a special shirt also before kick off in an echo of the events organised by the Club on 8 March for International Women's Day. The shirt will have a blue background with the front showing the Barça pitches and the Venus symbol used last Tuesday as well as the slogan: 'The line does not divide, it unites.'

Fans who attend the game will have t-shirts with the same design but in three different colours, blue, maroon and yellow, available on their seats so that weather permitting they can create a mosaic at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

'Barça Women, a history from the early days to the treble'

The VIP area at the Estadi Johan Cruyff will also see the presentation of the book 'Barça Women, stories from the early days to the treble,' written by historian Manel Tomàs, which brings together the progress of the team from the pioneering sides of the 1970s to the current European champions.

The event, aimed to highlight the efforts made to bring the team to life, will see Barça president Joan Laporta present, presidential councillor Laura Vilagrà and Manel Tomàs himself along with members of the team who played in the first ever women's game at Camp Nou on 25 December 1970.
