Six out of six! Barça have completed a perfect Champions League group stage by winning every game, completing the set on Wednesday with a 5-0 win over Køge of Denmark in a game preceded by Lieke Martens parading her Golden Woman Player to fans in the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
Leila Ouahabi opened the scoring after just ten minutes and Claudia Pina also found the net but her effort was cancelled out for offside. But Barça were totally in command, and there was an air of inevitability when Rolfo made it 2-0 and Alexia added a third just before the break.
Further goals seemed on the cards but it was not until the 66th minute that we had one when Engen met a corner. Køge had had plenty of chances of their own, and the closest of those efforts hit the crossbar but they were not getting anything out of this game.
The highlight was, without a shadow of a doubt, a fabulous lobbed goal from Martens to make it five and confirm the Catalans’ superiority in their Champions League group.
