Future in safe hands

The ten nominees for the Kopa Trophy have been announced by France Football, which presents this annual award to the best player aged under 21 of the previous season.

FC Barcelona has done something this year that has never happened since the award was introduced in 2018. It has three nominees in the same edition! Borussia Dortmund (2021 & 2022) and Bayern Munich (2022) have had two in the past and Real Madrid also has a couple this year, but no team has ever managed three. 

Gavi, Pedri and Balde are the three blaugrana players, two of whom, Gavi and Pedri, have already won this prize before. Pedri won it in 2021 and Gavi did last year. 

Golden Boys as well

Gavi, Balde and this time Lamine Yamal are also among the candidates for the Golden Boy prize awarded by Italian paper Tuttosport. Pedri and Gavi are also previous recipients of that accolade, in 2021 and 2022 respectively. 

As well as a prize voted for by a jury of reporters from all around Europe, there is also a separate prize for the player who picks up the most votes in a public online poll. Don't forget to cast your own vote for the FC Barcelona stars!
