Barça Foundation receives support from the first team ahead of LaLiga Genuine
Xavi and the first team squad received a visit from the team made of players with functional diversity before they travel to Málaga for a tournament
Monumental surprise for the Barça Foundation players on Friday before their trip to Málaga to take part in the second phase of the LaLiga Genuine Santander. They were cited to meet at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper before heading to the airport. Beforehand, however, they took a trip to the Tito Vilanova training pitch where they were met by the FC Barcelona first team squad.
In an atmosphere that was dominated by smiles, Xavi Hernández and his players wished the Barça Foundation team all the best. "You are doing really well and you have to keep working like you are," said the Catalan first team coach. "Do I look fatter on TV?" joked the Barça boss amongst laughs all round. Marc Cutillas rubbed shoulders with Memphis, Dani Alves joked with Pol about his blue hair, Miquel reminded Sergi Roberto about a photo they had taken together years before whislt BArça Foundation ambassador Gerard Piqué wished all the best to Montse Durà.
Games against Depor, Levante and Real Sociedad
The Barça Foundation team is formed by people with functional diversity and they will take part in the LaLiga Genuine Santander on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May at the La Rosaleda stadium in Málaga. The blaugranes began their competition in April in Gran Canaria where they played against Fundación Albacete, UD Las Palmas and Eibar Fundazioa. In Málaga they will face RC Deportivo de la Corunya, Levante UD EDI and Real Sociedad Fundazioa.
The team will face Deporitvo on Saturday 14 May at 10am CEST. On the same day the Barça Foundation will face Levante at 5pm CEST. On Sunday 15 May they will face Real Sociedad Fundazioa at 11am CEST.
LaLiga Genuine Santander 2021/22 will end with a third weekend of competition on 3,4 and 5 June at the Ciudad Deportiva de Lezama (Bilbao).
